Tencent WorkBuddy launches “Remote Control”: your phone can view and take over your computer desktop in real time, with remote operations not consuming Tokens.

On October 28, Tencent WorkBuddy launched its “Remote Control” feature, powered by the Tencent Edge One team. The mobile app enables one-tap connection to a computer, allowing users to view and take control of the desktop in real time. The screen appears as a small floating window either on the home page or at the top of the chat page, with an input box available and the ability to correct tasks that stray from the intended path. When switched to full-screen landscape mode, tapping anywhere on the screen corresponds to clicking the same spot on the computer. On the right side, there are “Actions,” “Keyboard,” and “Mouse” tools; the “Actions” menu lets users tile windows, return to the desktop, switch screens, and more.

On October 28, Tencent WorkBuddy officially launched its “Remote Control” feature, backed by technical support from the Tencent Edge One team. With just one tap in the mobile app, users can connect to their computers and view the desktop in real time while taking control.

The computer’s screen appears as a small floating window at the top of the app’s home page or conversation tab, with the input box remaining fully functional and allowing corrections for misaligned tasks. Tap “Full Screen” to enter landscape mode, where tapping on your phone corresponds to clicking the same location on the computer. On the right side of the landscape interface, three toolsets—“Operations,” “Keyboard,” and “Mouse”—are available: “Operations” lets you tile running windows, return to the desktop, adjust image quality, and end remote control (with a second confirmation); the “Keyboard” supports both mobile input methods and the computer keyboard along with common shortcuts; and the “Mouse” offers precise virtual positioning, with left/right clicks and scrolling mirroring the computer’s behavior.

In practical scenarios, after logging into a WeChat Official Account or Xiaohongshu account via a computer browser, the Agent can retrieve data in the background to complete weekly report backtesting without being blocked by permission prompts. If connector authorization expires or new skills need temporary installation, remote connection allows you to install and enable them directly on the computer. Additionally, PPTs, webpages, and posters generated by the Agent can be viewed in widescreen mode to check layout and animation effects, with instant editing capabilities.

The mobile app must be updated to version 2.7.0 or later, while the macOS desktop client should be updated to version 5.9.3 or later. For the first time on the computer, enable “Allow Remote Connections from Devices Using the Same Account,” install the remote control component, and grant permissions for “Screen Recording & System Audio” and “Accessibility.” Then activate remote control. Thereafter, whenever the computer is powered on and WorkBuddy is online, you can select “Remote Control” from the menu in the upper-right corner of the app to connect directly. In terms of security, only one authenticated phone can connect to a given computer at any time; all screen operations travel through an encrypted channel, user inputs are not recorded, and remote control footage is not saved—only data traffic is consumed, with no Token usage.

From multi-device collaboration to cross-device takeover, AI Agents are increasingly integrated into real-world workflows.
