On October 29, reports from Kuai Technology indicated that DouBao Work, a subsidiary of ByteDance, has officially launched a new third-party large model service for enterprise customers. This move ends the traditional approach where businesses had to procure models individually from various vendors, enabling corporate users to flexibly switch between several leading large models directly within a single platform, based on specific task requirements like long-text processing, coding, or logical reasoning.
During the initial launch phase, DouBao Work has officially integrated three highly acclaimed industry flagship models: Kimi 3.1 Pro, GLM 5.3, and DeepSeek V4.1 Flash. Enterprises can freely select the model best suited to their workflow scenarios, collaborating efficiently without the tedious process of switching back and forth between multiple accounts and webpages.
In terms of target user groups and pricing, this third-party large model service is currently available only to Team Subscription and Enterprise Subscription customers. Once activated, the system defaults to an enabled state—no complicated approval requests are required, nor do enterprises incur additional cash purchase costs. When invoking third-party models, the system automatically deducts AI credits from the enterprise account, delivering a truly plug-and-play experience.
Furthermore, to balance daily operational efficiency with absolute internal data security, the platform grants administrators extremely granular control permissions. In personnel management, admins can flexibly define access scopes, allowing individual members, departments, or workgroups to gain access, or enabling all users with a single click. They can also batch-enable or individually toggle specific models by vendor. For scenario-based controls, administrators can independently restrict which terminal environments a model can operate in—for example, permitting use only on DouBao desktop, DouBao Work desktop, mobile devices, web interfaces, or within DouBao Work on Feishu—ensuring sensitive corporate data remains secure and does not leak externally.
Industry analysts believe that with DouBao Work’s initial integration of multiple top-tier third-party large models, enterprise users will enjoy greater flexibility in selecting and centrally managing everyday AI tools. Moving forward, the platform plans to continue adding more third-party large models, further enriching the ecosystem of enterprise-grade AI assistants.
