Why a new report on Anthropic automating AI development is alarming researchers

Anthropic is using AI to build more powerful AI. And it appears to be working remarkably well, with the company's models improving roughly twice as quickly as a year ago, with little indication of slowing down. That's according to a new report published Thursday by the AI safety research organization METR, following an 11-week investigation […]

How U Mobile built agentic telco operations with Amazon Bedrock AgentCore

U Mobile, Malaysia's newest 5G network provider, built AiDaH, an agentic AI operations platform on Amazon Bedrock AgentCore that moves beyond AI assistance to autonomous action across telco operations. Nine months after production launch, AiDaH handles over 150 operational scenarios across six divisions, cutting trouble tickets by up to 84.5%.

Kyndryl shares surge 30% on hyperscaler-related revenue growth

Shares of Kyndryl Holdings Inc. jumped 30% today after it reported better-than-expected earnings for the second quarter of its 2027 fiscal year. Kyndryl generated $3.9 billion in sales during the three months ended Sept. 30. Show HN: SrcWranglr

I spend a lot of time diving deep into C/C++ code bases for various reasons. Normally for Vulnerability Research. I like to get a good feel for the software, it's data structures, control flow, etc. Are all usually important. In the past we have SourceTrail, this is now defunct and its abilities were somewhat limited. If you have thousands to spend you can grab a Understand license... Wait maybe thats SourceNavigator. Either way I wrote SrcWranglr. Its my very first Rust project (congrats to the insufferable Rusteans, I finally cracked and learned Rust).Anyhow SrcWranglr is wicked free, wicked fast, has a modern UI, and features that assist in finding bugs/vulns. You can run semgrep rules over the codebase, or have a fuzz harness generated for you by the program with ease.. Its still super early in development but it already helped me discover a 0day :-).. Give it a shot if you want. I am open to any suggestions and if it is in your heart to contribute let me know. I only get to work on personal projects here and there on account of work... But yea enough babbling.https://github.com/jdefrancesco/SrcWranglr Comments URL: https://news.ycombinator.com/item?id=50380536 Points: 1 # Comments: 0

Kevin Roose is AGI-pilled. Why aren’t you?

Today, I’m talking to Kevin Roose, journalist and author of the new book The AGI Chronicles, which details the recent and explosive transformation of the AI industry. Kevin was a longtime New York Times reporter and host of the popular podcast Hard Fork, but he and friend of the show Casey Newton just left the […]

My obituary for programming

My obituary for programming Jeremy Scheff poignantly captures the key loss caused by coding agents for career programmers who enjoyed the puzzle of developing code: Programming turned into one of the greatest jobs you could imagine. You got paid to work on tricky little logic puzzles. The trickier the puzzle, the more you got paid. But even pretty simple puzzles were worth a lot of money because regular people just couldn't do it! No, they needed us. They would give us a problem and we would solve it the way we wanted. We set the strategy, we made the timeline, we defined what was and was not possible. If you're a programmer who thrives on building working systems and doesn't care too deeply about the problems solved along the way, LLMs are the gift that keeps on giving. If directly solvin

Qwen2-Audio: Chat with Your Voice!

DEMO PAPER GITHUB HUGGING FACE MODELSCOPE DISCORD To achieve the objective of building an AGI system, the model should be capable of understanding information from different modalities. Thanks to the rapid development of large language models, LLMs are now capable of understanding language and reasoning. Previously we have taken a step forward to extend our LLM, i.e., Qwen, to more modalities, including vision and audio, and built Qwen-VL and Qwen-Audio. Today, we release Qwen2-Audio, the next version of Qwen-Audio, which is capable of accepting audio and text inputs and generating text outputs.
