A Quantitative Approach to Asch Conformity in Frontier Large Language Models

arXiv:2610.36668v1 Announce Type: new Abstract: The Asch conformity experiment has recently gained considerable attention as a way of measuring conformity in large language models (LLMs). While previous studies have focused on demonstrating conformity in LLMs, our work adds a further quantitative layer to this approach. Instead of sampling a frontier LLM on a suite of questions, our approach samples a single question repeatedly, leveraging the probabilistic nature of LLMs to produce a distribution of answers. In doing so, we can compare the distributions of answers before and after the model is presented with the manufactured consensus. Our experiments confirm that frontier LLMs do conform, reinforcing prior literature, and, through our distribution-to-distribution comparisons, provide add

CEMIR vs. FISER: a comparative study of reasoning-based and enrichment-based approaches to pragmatic intent recognition

arXiv:2610.32022v1 Announce Type: new Abstract: Intent recognition in human-robot interaction requires agents to resolve ambiguous natural language instructions by inferring the speaker's underlying goals. Research has increasingly focused on two notable paradigms for addressing this task: structured symbolic reasoning and multimodal input enrichment. However, it remains unclear whether enrichment-based methods provide benefit in settings where the ambiguity concerns unstated human intent rather than missing observable scene information. In this paper, we present a comparative and diagnostic study benchmarking FISER - a framework utilizing structured social and embodied reasoning - against CEMIR (Context-Enriched Multimodal Intent Recognition), a method that performs multimodal enrichment

Financial Context-Rich Strategy for Actor-Critic based Agents: A Deep Reinforcement Learning Approach for Stock Trading

arXiv:2610.32237v1 Announce Type: new Abstract: In modern financial markets, more than 3/4th of the large volume trade is executed by algorithmic trading based on advanced trading strategies to attain higher precision and speed than traditional human traders. The conventional strategies focused on price-based indicators are inadequate in capturing the market dynamism arising from real-world events such as social sentiments, political instability, or sudden economic shifts. With the rise of Deep Reinforcement Learning (DRL) and data availability, there is a requirement for more efficient algorithms that can incorporate these external factors in trading strategies. DRL has shown potential in simulating real-world scenarios and in simplifying complex decision-making since DRL agents can autom
