OpenAI said that ChatGPT and Codex will draw usage from the same allocation pool after this change.
OpenAI announced that, beginning in December, a portion of the usage quota for ChatGPT Plus, Pro, and Business plans will be shared between ChatGPT and Codex, enabling Work agents to integrate into ChatGPT’s main interaction interface. User conversations, programming tasks, and agent operations will gradually be brought under unified quota management, measured in tokens; consumption depends on model type and task complexity, with more complex tasks consuming more; scenarios such as instant chat are also being closely monitored.

Article by AGI 2050 ● Editor’s Note: This episode of the podcast “Cheeky Pint,” hosted by Stripe co-founder John Collison, features a conversation with OpenAI founder Sam Altman. During his discussion with Collison, Altman revealed numerous internal practices and business insights at OpenAI: when the coding tool Codex went down, OpenAI engineers nearly forgot how to write code by hand; regarding commercialization, he openly stated his strong aversion to using tokens as the billing unit, and...
OpenAI has reversed the notice issued at the end of September that had angered subscribers. On October 29, it announced an immediate increase in the usage quotas for Work and Codex within ChatGPT Pro and Business Premium: the three tiers—Pro 100, Pro 200, and Pro 500—have all been doubled. New users will enjoy these increased limits right away, while existing users will automatically benefit without needing to renew their subscriptions; meanwhile, the extended usage quota for Dots’ always-on AI assistant will be calculated separately. This reversal came just one day after the original plan to implement the cuts. The controversy stemmed from a September 29 announcement in which OpenAI cited improvements in model efficiency as the reason for notifying users.
Just now, Codex head Tibo announced: effective immediately, the usage limits for the Pro 100, Pro 200, Pro 500, and Business Premium plans have all been doubled, and the reduction in the Pro 200 plan has also been reversed. However, Tibo’s long-standing free reset allowance may soon become a thing of the past as well. Tibo retweeted his own post, adding: “We’ve officially graduated from being a company that resets users’ quotas to becoming a company that truly provides tokens.” Recently, many users frequently encountered rate limits...
On October 26, Zhang Tao (online alias HideCloud), co-founder and product partner at Manus, recently published a lengthy article on his WeChat official account “Qianyun Sisi,” titled “Transforming Manus with Manus.” The piece opens with an image that left a deep impression on him. He had submitted several requirements and bug reports to an engineer; when he checked back a while later, he found that the engineer’s computer had multiple Codex and Manus sessions running side by side. Clicking on any one of them, he typed in what he had just been working on...

Research: Profiling web-edit with Python 3.15: flame graphs and source heatmaps I put the new Python 3.15 profiler through its paces by having GPT-6 Astra Extra High in Codex run it against my new web-edit app: I need a Python 3.15 flame graph and heatmap demo of the "web-edit" app from PyPI - research first then make me those demos Here's the resulting example flame graph and heatmap. Release: web-edit 0.1a0 I was working on a project from my phone using Codex Remote when I found myself wanting to edit a credentials file without round-tripping those credentials through the LLM itself. So... I had Codex and GPT-6 Astra Extra High build this Python web app which provides a web UI for viewing and editing files in a folder. It's intended to be run over Tailscale, so I can have an agent start this running and then edit files via my Tailscale network directly from my phone. Here's the interface for browsing files in a folder: Editing uses CodeMirror 6 - I was going to use Monaco but that still doesn't have a great mobile experience yet.
